At first light, Gnome Cat walks the bean rows with a lantern and checks each mushroom for unauthorized leaning. The hat handles weather, shade, and most negotiations. By noon, the watering can is empty, the wheelbarrow is parked crooked, and its owner has fallen asleep beneath the thyme. No one has filed a complaint.
